Rebecca Nurse Homestead II
This trip to the Rebecca Nurse Homestead was much more productive. This time my group found colorful ceramic, medicine bottles, glass with letters on it, and many rusty, red nails. We also found a rusty, old sardine can, pieces of a shoe, an intact frying pan, and paper accompanied by a pencil. This time my group looked in a differant part of the midden. We found so many more artifacts. My group also worked very well together.
I learned that you could tell the date of a piece of ceramic, by the design. For example, if it is sponge painted, it is from the early 1900s. In conclusion i would like to say that this dig was much more productive than the last, and i can’t wait to go back for more digging!
